VAC is working with the Rock County Council on Aging to reduce the likelihood of heat related illness for seniors in Rock County, Wisconsin.

During the past four years, VAC placed air conditioners in the homes of seniors in need. The demand for cooling equipment continues.

In 2006, VAC will appeal for more donations of air conditioners through the media, service clubs, faith organizations, and local contractors installing new central air. Designated cash donations will also be accepted to purchase new equipment.

Who is eligible?
Low income seniors 60 years and older.

Must have medical referral from professional health and human service organizations.

We will be taking applications for the air conditioners beginning May 2006.

For donations, we need working units, preferrably not over 8,000 BTU's, and are not able to accept any 220 volt units.
